Q: I think I can sell my vessel on my own without a broker if I can just get national or international exposure, but I don’t want to pay a brokers commission. What should I do?

List it with Lighthouse Yachts . . . immediately!  We will take quality, high-resolution digital prints of your vessel and show them where the real buyers are looking.  Then sell your vessel yourself and pay a nominal commission . . . or no commission.  (some restrictions apply, see below).

Q.  I'm looking for a broker who will "go the extra mile" to help me find and purchase a yacht.  Are you that type of broker?
Absolutely!  But our customers say it best:

Dear Bud:

I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you for all your help and expertise in finding my new Hatteras.  Since I was unable to actually see the boat before I bought it, you did a wonderful job of coordinating the process, looking at and inspecting the boat for me on my behalf.  Furthermore, you went well out of your way and brought the boat from Miami to Ft. Lauderdale to have it loaded on a truck at no charge.  Form start to finish, you were professional and prompt. You kept me up to date and informed on all paper work throughout the buying process. I would definitely recommend you and Lighthouse Yachts to anyone interested in buying a boat.

Best regards,

Lighthouse Yachts
Attn: Mr. Jim Brown:

Dear Jim:

I’m writing to acknowledge the great job you did when I bought my Carver 350 Mariner from you. You have the unique capability to take care of both the buyer and seller. I also want to thank you for your assistance in getting the boat off Lake Norman, which was above and beyond the call of duty.

Your high degree of professionalism, attention to details, and willingness to do whatever it takes to get the job done are commendable.

Sincerely,

Robert A. Phelps, Jr.

Q: I’m looking for a serious yacht, but I don’t want to pay a
ridiculous price. Is Lighthouse Yachts for me?

Absolutely!  Our sellers are typically savvy business persons who found out they could save a bundle by listing with Lighthouse Yachts. They are saving so much money, they can offer their vessels for much less than sellers listed with old-fashioned full-commission brokers.

Q: I’ve looked everywhere on the Internet, even on your
web page, and I still can’t find the vessel I want at the price
I want. Should I just give up?

No!   Instead, click here to search for tens of thousands of boats, or click here to just tell us what you want (the "old fashioned way").  In addition to Lighthouse Yachts in-house listings, we continually update files electronically in order to be able to pin point virtually any boat for sale anywhere in the world in Real Time. Once we know the style, size, price range, and other particulars about any vessel in which there is interest, we can find such a boat in a matter of a few days or even hours and because of the way we are structured, there is a very good chance that we can save the buyer money on the purchase.

Q: What should I be looking for in a brokerage?

When choosing a brokerage, you need to ask these questions:

(1) Is the brokerage licensed and bonded like Lighthouse Yachts?

(2) Does the brokerage have years – even decades – of experience like Lighthouse Yachts?

(3) Is the brokerage a member of the Florida Yacht Brokers Association like Lighthouse Yachts?

(4) Is the brokerage a member of the Yacht Brokers Association of America like Lighthouse Yachts?

(5) Is the brokerage just out to make money, or does it have broader goals like Lighthouse Yachts?

Q: What's this about selling my boat on my own and not having to pay any commission?

We know that one of the frustrating thoughts in using a
traditional broker is that the day you sign the brokerage
agreement, your cousin calls you and says he’d like to buy
your yacht . . . but now you have to give the broker a full
10% commission!   With Lighthouse Yachts, however, that
won't happen.

If you are on the Select Plan, you pay only a
two percent commission.

If you are on the Advantage Plan, you pay
no commission at all.  Under this plan, you pay a small flat listing fee:

Nominal Flat Fee Schedule (Advantage Plan)

v     Boats offered for sale up to $199,999         è $1,000

v     Boats offered for sale up to $499,000         è $1,500

v     Boats offered for sale up to $999,000         è $2,500

v     Boats offered for sale over $999,000          è $5,000

There are some restrictions, however, which provide
that (1) the buyer must be someone who has not had
prior contact with Lighthouse Yachts or any other broker
regarding your vessel and (2) the owner cannot be
engaged in advertising or actively promoting the yacht
for sale or charter. Listing fees for currently chartered vessels
are higher. Ask for details. Any other special fees or costs,
however, which Owner and Lighthouse may have agreed
to beforehand (e.g., storage, mooring, boat shows,
delivery, listing fees, etc.), which have not been paid for,
shall be due at closing or transfer of possession of the Yacht.
See our Listing Agreement for the exact wording.

Q: What opportunities are available for financing my yacht?

We understand that many times it makes good business
sense to finance a vessel.  Getting hooked up with the wrong
financing company, however, can be a nightmare.  Let us
use our experience to help you get together with the right
lender offering very competitive rates and terms.
