Sometimes our customers call with an urgent request: “Sell my yacht!” They understand that while just about any yacht brokerage can list their boat, not every yacht broker can actually fulfill the tall order to “sell my yacht!” Selling and listing are two different things. In fact, it is not at all unusual for one of our yacht brokers at Lighthouse Yachts to be retained after another yacht broker has been unable to “sell my yacht” for many months. Why is this? There are many reasons, and no two situations are the same, but often it has to do with exposure and experience. Your pre-owned yacht has to have worldwide exposure and right now that means Internet exposure. Similarly, your vessel has to be offered by a yacht broker with experience. It takes years and years of experience to be able to bring the right buyer to the seller and to actually consummate the deal. Do you have exposure and experience on your side?
